Marietta are a midwest emo / emo revival band from Philadelphia who formed in 2011. They released a few EPs, including a split with Modern Baseball, and two albums. Summer Death was their first album, released in 2013. It was originally released by New Jersey label Soft Speak Records, and was later reissued by Dog Knights and Near Mint. For me personally, I hope it lasts until maybe 2024 and 2025. Afterward, an emo revival would be cool. But I’m just now dressing y2k, so it will be sad to see it die out soon in my personal opinion. I feel like all this sub does is get angry and try to pretend for some dumb fucking reason that a lot of 2000s emo culture and music wasn’t „real“ emo. Just typical pretentious ass gate-keeping.
