But I’m running into issues with device discovery / casting. From my phone, I I bought a MR60 in April 2020 to replace an older router I had. This this has been nothing but garbage from the beginning. It constantly drops devices and then won’t reconnect until you reboot or forget and reconnect the network. I have tried to call their joke of a support team and get nowhere when I can get through.

The release notes indicated the new firmware fixes issues with AirPlay, but actually the Chromecast issues were also fixed. This probably meant the problem was fundamental and related to general communication between devices. After trying an Orbi mesh network recently and having connectivity issues I decided to return it and instead give the Nighthawk MR60 mesh system a try instead. It appears to be having its own distinct issues. I have an HP printer and older chromecast (gen 1 I think). They both work fine when connected to my old router.

So a month or two ago, I purchased a Netgear Nighthawk Mr60 mesh router, and ever since then neither of my chromecast ultras work right. I’ve reset them multiple times, but I always get the can’t connect because of AP enabled message. Will the MR60 and satellites still function as a mesh network if the MR60 is in AP mode? I have the MR60 mesh router with one satellite. This solution did not work for me, either. When the Chromecast on the MR60, it works. When it is on the satellite, it does not work. Just a heads up, I own 2 Nighthawk MR60 Mesh wifi systems and have been able to confirm that firmware update 1.1.6. 122 is causing device disconnects. It will refuse to allow devices to connect, even ones without issue previously. This is happening post-update.
