Water Pollution :: Cities: Skylines General Discussions

Has anyone else noticed that the achievement ‚Earthloving City‘ for having no water or ground pollution in a city of over 10,000 residents, is utterly impossible? The sewage cleaning system is not 100% efficient and no method of disposing of garbage creates zero pollution. It literally cannot be done without crashing that my Water is your city in a manner that renders it I used sewage outflow until I was able to build a water treatment plant. The water pollution cleared up about a year after I removed the outflow pipe. Ground pollution lasts much, much longer. I like that you can also connect to a neighboring city for water and sewage.

Keep your water pumps or water towers away from any pollution. Check your pollution overlay and if you should find your Cims getting sick, the first thing you should look at is water pollution. It should awlays be 0%. Even 1% is enough to cause sickness and fatalities. Pollution is the only thing that makes Cims sick. Ground pollution. Noise

My people get sick from polluted water but the water comes from a pumping station which pumps fresh tell me water. Could you tell me which reasons cause this sickness ? I only have 2 water towers in my city.
I can see these two are linked, but it’s not clear how. I have pipes running by a landfill and they’re completely brown. My water pollution level is at %30 and people are sick from it. I tried rerouting the pipes away from the landfill but all pipes anywhere near the landfill pollution all are still brown. I’m not entirely sure what connection there is between ground pollution and water, and Well I belive the Eden Project cleans ground pollution not sure about whater (but I had noticed the water got very clean not long afterwards if u teatment plants.)
I am not sure what is going on I have tried reinstalling but my waste water buildings all produce 0 pollution. Anyone else run into this issue or can think of a fix? Kinda removes an important element from the game How can I reduce water using a river as your pollution that makes the sea water brown? Thanks. I built a sewage dam and i need to clean the problem. Water pumps aren’t delivering the polluted water to water treatment plants, it seems these plants will only take in sewage only.
I have been testing with water supllies for my coastal city thats only water source is the ocean. The view matters so when you unlock them, remove all your Water Drain Pipes and replace them with Sewage Treatment Plants. Dont leave just yet there is more. To my discovery the Fresh Water Outlet right next to the Sewage Treatment Plant makes a slight difference.

Plopping a water pump into a water source that is polluted (usually by sewage, although ground pollution along a shoreline can leech into the water) will contaminate that pump. This is why you should always place your pumps upstream from your sewage outlets if using a river as your water source. Use your pollution overlay.
Originally posted by Tankfriend: You don’t. You simply have to accept that you will never get a city with zero pollution. Exactly, the only way to do that is to use mods. One example is the Pollution Remover mod (what I currently use), it allows you to disable all kinds of pollution (ground, water, and noise). I placed a couple water drain pipes around a lake to make it nice and brown but they don’t pollute by any means. In the pollution view you can see little arrows suggesting that water is being pumped out but it’s not dirty, what’s going on? Cities: Skylines – Drinking Water is dirty? So basically, as I told on a different discussion I have like 4.000-5.000 people and just now I got reports that my Water is dirty even when I just expanded the Water pipes and nothing really Has been changed.
The three forms of pollution all cause sickness, however, water pollution is the only one that is fatal. Nobody dies from ground or noise pollution, even if they have no access to any health service, but they will die from water pollution. So I have areas of my water that is pooped and brown that I want to clean up. I removed the sewage pipes but years have passed and water is not clearing up. What do I need to do? I’ve checked garbage and regular ground pollution and nothing should be affecting them. It is a tight neighborhood though, like 1×2 and 2×2 houses and i’ve not done that anywhere else. How can I save them? I’m orphaning so many children.
Use your pollution overlay and scan the map. The source of the contamination will show up brown. So, if any of your water pumps or water towers are brown, that’s the culprit. Very often, some players place a water tower, which later became part of their industrial zone and got contaminated. So check to make sure you didn’t do that. I am not planning on this just yet but maybe the future. Is there anything negative paint industrial zones on placing a geothermal power plant on polluted groundwater, say placing it near an industrial area? Water pollution in Cities: Skylines is primarily caused by sewage, and to a lesser degree, industrial work (or other pollution-producing structures) being too close to bodies of water. Prevention is better than cure, so it’s ideal that when zoning, you paint industrial zones away from bodies of water.

It says your drinking water pollution is at 1%, so somewhere one of your water pumps or water towers is sucking up some pollution.
I would like to know if it’s possible to remove the water pollution without to start a new game,i use sewage plant from workshop too late:/ thanks Deleted the output like 2 hours ago from two different locations, still bright yellow on the water pollution map. While i was playing, ive noticed that the sea is brown! it looks terrible. is there a way to prevent this or i can do something now? and btw, devs or modders should make a building that cleans the sea or river.
First make a careful note of the water surface level. You could even mark it with a couple of trees or whatever. Then use the water tool and lower the sea level to zero. This will remove all water from the map. Then reset the sea level to the original level, use your markers to ensure it is exactly as it was. Water will return to the map and voila, now it’s completely free of Beyond roleplaying is there any reason to build water treatment plants or the floating trash collector that cleans up water pollution? I wanted to make a map with like a lake / reservoir with no flowing and all the water had to be recycled into the reservoir but I noticed even with like 1% water pollution or even less than 1% water pollution all your sims will still get sick if
Sorry I don’t understand. To make the water/drain system work, I have to connect the two systems. But this way, the drain system will Ground pollution connect to the water pump, polluting the water the pump itself is pumping. My citizens are dying because of this. How to avoid this?
If your water pollution truly is fine (and by that, I mean at 0%) then I say you have a mod problem. Give us a few screenshots of your water and pollution overlays (that many sick at once doesn’t seem like noise pollution to me) though in case you missed something. I would bet you have a water tower near industry or a garbage dump somewhere, that is getting contaminated. Move or remove it and it should clear up. View this in the pollution overlay. The water pollution (brownish pipes) should be able to be see in the most effected pipes and should lead you to the source the the pollution contaminant.
In a specific, small residential area, citizens are getting sick from the water. There is 0% water pollution and my water intakes are away from polluted areas. What is going on? How do I fix this? Not necessary to start anew for this achievement. Play until you have sewage treatment (not necessary, if you make sure your pumps/towers don’t suck up pollution) and incinerator (very important) unlocked. For incinerators, just build 1 or 2 is enough. Make sure you have 0% water pollution with the use of treatment plant. ( not necessary ) Make sure you have
